Danganronpa 3 Anime

Who else is excited for the upcoming Danganronpa 3 Anime? I am, but I kind of wish they'd do the anime for SDR2 as well. I'm not sure if it'll come out or not because all the rumours I've heard say that it'll be out after DR3 is released or not coming out at all... *sigh*

Anyway, the DR3 anime is split into two parts - the Future part and the Despair part. The Future part shows what happens to the survivors of the first game in the Future Foundation and they've added a bunch of new characters. There's one problem though...

Where's Touko and Byakuya? 

See, they're not there. There's also another thing on my mind.

WHY IS MONOMI THERE?

She's actually Usami, right? So it makes no sense that she's Monomi now, unless Monokuma redesigned her again. Also, you remember that Monomi is actually an AI program? How would she be able to get into the real world?

Apart from that, all I can say is Makoto, Kyoko, Hiro and Hina have definitely got more mature than they were in the first game. I mean Makoto is almost completely different.

The next part is the Despair edition. It basically involves all the characters from SDR2 (except Chiaki, of course), showing how they all got into Ultimate Despair. I actually have a couple of theories.

• Sonia's kingdom, Novoselic, is under attack. The enemy manages to capture Sonia and takes her away. At the enemy's base, they bribe Sonia into joining Ultimate Despair by saying that if Sonia joined, her kingdom would be safe and the attack would be abandoned. 
• Ibuki is trying to persuade her band members to let her perform in their gig tonight. Ibuki's band isn't really keen, but they give in eventually. In order to get Ibuki kicked off, they begun making bad guitar music behind the stage so the audience believed that Ibuki's music was bad. Feeling betrayed, Ibuki sat down outside the concert hall and someone came up to her and said that they saw potential in Ibuki. Ibuki joins their 'band', but of course, the someone was Junko and the band was Ultimate Despair.

Those are my theories. I'm not sure if they're really that good or how accurate they are.

The Future version is due to come out in July, and the Despair version a little later, so I've heard.

References

Today, I'll talk about some references in Danganronpa or references to Danganronpa.

First, we have a reference to Danganronpa in 'Himouto! Umaru-chan' as the cute girl wearing a Monokuma hoodie and saying 'upupupu'. In fact, in the trial for 'Who ate the Pudding', Umaru's big brother is wearing a Pheonix Wright uniform. 

She's also declaring it wrong with the same background as the ones with Hajime and Makoto.

I have nothing apart from that so.

In Danganronpa, there're a couple of references to other games/anime.

For example...

Ibuki Mioda mentioned the Ace Attorney in the second class trial

I believe the Ace Attorney is from Phoenix Wright? If I'm wrong, pls dont yell at me ty

In Chapter 5, inside the Sea King Industries Kazuichi references Death Note.

As promised, today we'll be talking about the SDR2 murders and executions.

These are probably more upsetting than the rest.

Ohhh, the despair

First up, we have Byakuya Togami!

I can't believe that the Ultimate Affluence Prodigy was killed...

Even though he;s actually an imposter.

It's sad, isn't it? I mean, to be stabbed repeatedly by an iron skewer under the floorboards.

I blame Nagito for not buying a bigger carpet.

And who killed him?

Who else noticed that this was almost like Leon's execution?

Next up for the murdered, we have the Ultimate Photographer, Mahiru Koizumi.

Who else keeps mistaking the mask with a rubber duck if you look at the body? Just me? Okay... fair enough.

Who killed her? Hm?

Hiyoko Saionji~!

Wait, no. Hiyoko didn't kill her. She was just framed by the true killer - Peko Pekoyama!

For the third murder, two people are killed! And two of my favourite characters...

Introducing Ibuki Mioda and Hiyoko Saionji!

Ngh. Why did Ibuki have to die like that? I mean, when I saw the video from the monitor while I was playing the game, I was confused as to why there was a looped rope above a stepladder then it hit me.

And if Mikan ever had a reason for killing Hiyoko, it would probably be because Hiyoko insulted her all the time.

Monokuma always has to go for the most complicated executions he can find, can't he? :I

Okay, so next up, in Grape Tower we have Nekomaru Nidai!

Or to be more accurate, Mechomaru. That really has to hurt, despite him being a robot.
And who killed him?
Well, get your handkerchiefs ready because it's Gundham Tanaka!

HOW DOES NAGITO KOMAEDA DIE?

That, that, is a really, really, horrifying death. Well, Nagito actually planned it all along in order to expose the traitor. But he really didn't think it through properly, didn't he?
So, he tortured himself. Before he did, though, he swapped the contents of one of the fire grenades with poison that was fatal if breathed in. When the others were at the entrance to the warehouse, he set fire to the curtains which made them throw the fire grenades. All done to try and get the traitor revealed. But Hajime was too smart, and Chiaki was too wise, so they eventually revealed the traitor in the voting.
*dun dun duuuuun*

RIP Chiaki, best traitor of all time.

The executions and deaths from DR1 | SPOILERS INCLUDED

Today we'll be talking about the limelight in both games - the executions and deaths. 

Yep, I know. 

Some are so sad that they make you want to cry, some are so unbelievably sad that you actually do cry and some are just upsetting.

And, on another topic, the thing that triggers all of that - the murders set up by the culprit.

And here we have all the deaths and executions in order.

Sayaka Maizono, the Ultimate Pop Sensation, killed by a knife through the stomach.

And who would commit this dark and dangerous deed of the devils?

Gundham Tanaka is the only choice

Leon Kuwata, Ultimate Baseballer...

The only thing I can say is that his execution has changed my opinion on baseball permanently.

I mean, getting hit by a baseball machine... how sad is that?

Quite a brutal execution tbh.

Next up, we have Ultimate Programmer, Chihiro Fujisaki, killed. 

Who would kill someone as cute as this girl? (...Girl?)

Well... look no further. Here we now have our culprit!~

Seriously?! At the speed he was going, he would be forced to stay awake.

Let me tell you, it's not pleasant to be forced to stay awake while your brain's melting into butter. This execution has made me check and re-check boxes of butter just to be on the safe side.

Brain juice on pancakes, anyone?

Next, we've got the duo killed. Introducing the Ultimate Fanfic Creator, Hifumi Yamada, and the Ultimate Moral Compass, Kiyotaka Ishimaru~!

This method of killing is not welcome in a school environment!

And who killed them?

Spot on, it was Celeste.

After that, who killed Sakura..?

I hate to disappoint you, but it was Sakura Oogami! In other words, the victim killed the victim. Simply put, it was an act of suicide!

Now, she's already dead, so who's dying in the execution? Eh? Who? Whoooo?

Easy... looks like Monokuma guess who was giving them hope.

After this the mastermind was getting bored, so she recycled Mukuro Ikusaba's corpse, to trick the survivors. My, my.

Now, here comes the tricky bit. Depending on the answer you give, either Makoto Naegi or Kyoko Kirigiri die. So let's just review both their 'executions'.

If you pick the correct answer, aka not revealing Kyouko's lie and you manage to escape the trash room, then you're free to go to the last trial and experience the despair of the final boss battle! Upupupu~

And who's the mastermind?

None other than Junko Enoshima~!

Oh, and looks like she gets executed.

Comparing Ships

Welcome back! So, today we're comparing the characters from DR1 with characters from SDR2. To be honest, it's probably quite obvious. I mean...

Who else agrees with me that the popular ship, Akane Owari x Nekomaru Nidai from SDR2 is very similar to the other popular ship from DR1, Aoi Asahina x Sakura Ogami? Shall I prove it? Okay then!

All these four characters have a talent with sports - with Akane being a gymnast, Nekomaru a team manager, Hina a swimmer and Sakura a martial artist. 

Plus, look at Hina and Akane. 

• Both have brown hair
• Both have tanned skin
• Both wear white and red.

I mean, the similarities are so obvious that it's impossible not to notice.

Now let's look at Nekomaru and Sakura

Why oh why didn't I check the heights first

• Both are muscular 

That's it.

Let's compare another ship with another ship. This time, our contestants are Makoto Naegi x Kyouko Kirigiri from DR1, and Hajime Hinata x Chiaki Nanami from SDR2.

• Both are really useful during Class Trials
